ICC World T20: Day 10 and Day 11

First match of the Super Eight ends with a mouth-watering Super Over clash

On day-10 of the ICC World T20, the first Super eight contest took place between Sri Lanka and New Zealand and it turned out to be a cliff-hanger as it went all the way down to the Super Over. It was Sri Lanka who held their nerve and came out with flying colours to beat New Zealand.

The second match too was an exciting one as West Indies scored 179 courtesy some excellent batting display by Chris Gayle and Charles Johnson. The English team started shakily but fought their way back. In the end England’s effort were not good enough and they lost to West Indies by 15 runs.

On day-11 of the ICC World T20, South Africa will start their Super Eight campaign against the 2009 T20 world champions Pakistan. The Proteas have a formidable attack with quality batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders while Pakistan has a potent spin bowling attack conducive for R.Premadasa strip.

The second match of the day is an India versus Australia clash. The Aussies were not considered as contenders for this T20 world cup until they beat West Indies in the group stage. Team India too is in great run of form as they thumpingly went on to beat England in their group stage match.

Today is going to be an action-packed Friday for the cricket fans and lovers.

Group 2 - Australia (B1), India (A2), New Zealand (D1), Sri Lanka (C2)
