Saina offers prayer
India’s ace shuttler Saina Nehwal offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala before heading off for All England Badminton Championships.

The badminton star was accompanied by her mother Usha Nehwal upon her visit to the hill shrine on Feb. 27. The duo had a darshan of the Lord Balaji during VIP break period in the morning and was presented with prasadams by the top officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam at Ranganayakula Mandapam inside the temple complex.

A day earlier, Saina Nehwal had participated in Rahu-Ketu puja at Srikalahasti Temple, about 40 km from Tirumala.

World No.2 Saina Nehwal is seeded second behind Olympic champion Li Xuerui in the women's singles at the All England Badminton Championships, starting in Birmingham March 5.
